Exploring the potential of ammonia and hydrogen as alternative fuels for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing engine performance.

Some optical/laser diagnostics to gain insight into the combustion characteristics of these fuels inside the RSM optical engine, these techniques include particle image velocimetry (PIV), laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), and tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) to measure the spray and its interaction with the turbulent flow field, the flame/wall interaction, the local composition of the fuel-air mixture, and the exhaust emissions.

1. Understanding the effects of fuel properties, injection strategies, and engine operating conditions on the combustion behavior and emissions of ammonia/hydrogen blends.

2. Providing valuable information and guidance for the development and optimization of ammonia/hydrogen engines, and their scale-resolved simulations.

3. Exploring the advanced ammonia/hydrogen combustion technologies and their applications in transportation and energy sectors.
