The Institute RSM – Reactive Flows and Diagnostics proudly announces that Dr. Tao Li has been selected for the prestigious Athene Young Investigator (AYI) program of TU Darmstadt. The award strengthens Dr. Li’s scientific independence and enables him to build his own junior research group within the institute.

Dr. Li’s research focuses on carbon-neutral fuel technologies, with a particular emphasis on plasma-driven ammonia synthesis and plasma-assisted combustion. Ammonia is considered a promising energy carrier for a climate-neutral future, and Dr. Li’s work aims to make its production and combustion more efficient through advanced plasma reactors and state-of-the-art laser diagnostics.

The AYI program supports outstanding early-career scientists at TU Darmstadt, granting them professorial rights and targeted resources for building an independent research profile.
